SUMMARY:Lower Turtle Lake Association Treats on the Lake
DESCRIPTION:The Lower Turtle Lake Association is hosting the first 2017 Treats on the Lake events on the 2nd Saturday of each month of June\, July and August\, which will be June 10th\, July 8th and August 12. \nThis sounds too good to be true\, but it is! Watch for watercraft on the second Saturday of June\, July\, and August displaying a “treats” sign.  Make your way up to that watercraft and get yourself a treat courtesy of the Lower Turtle Lake Association.  Whether it be a hot dog or cool drink\, we’re sure you’ll want to make an effort to get out on the lake for a treat.  Want to learn more about it?  Want to volunteer to treat your lake friends at no cost to you?  Contact John Zilles or Carrie Walbridge for details.  (Contact information is on the Board Member listing.)

SUMMARY:Lower Turtle Lake Association Annual Poker Run
DESCRIPTION:The Lower Turtle Lake Association Annual Poker Run is back by popular demand.  An around the lake poker run is being held on Saturday\, July 30\, 2016. A Poker Run/ Annual Picnic Reminder will be sentout in late July containing the location of the registration station(s). Everyone interested in participating must stop at a registration station on the day of the run either prior to or between the hours of 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. to pay the $5.00 entry fee and pick up a “playing card.” (Correct change is appreciated.) We will attempt to have 10 locations designated around the lake. \nBetween the hours of 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.\, participants must travel to no less than five and no more than ten of these locations to have their playing cards authenticated. (The more authentications one has\, the better the chance of drawing a winning hand.)  Once finished\, participants will gather at Roxie’s Bar and Grill at 119 Soo Ave. East in Almena where they will be given one card for each authentication they have received. The best poker hands determine the prize winners. \nCash prize amounts will be determined by the number of participants. (Note: We will not be doubling the prize amounts for paid dues members for this event.) \n• Any number of participants (age 18 and older) can participate.\n• Each participant must pay an entry fee. • If any entry fee is paid so a particular person can play\, that person must obtain his/her own authentications.\n• Guests of lakeshore owners are invited to play. • Each participant must come to Roxie’s personally at 5:00 p.m. to receive his/her cards. Participants under 21 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.\n• No hands can be combined to form a better hand. \nNew this year will be a $25.00 cash prize award given to the dock serving the best “dock snack” to poker run participants. A voting area will be included on participants’ “playing cards.” Anyone wanting to participate in the poker run that does not have a boat should contact a Board Member prior to the date of the poker run. Anyone owning a boat willing to provide a courtesy ride to those who do not is also asked to contact a Board Member prior to the date of the poker run. \nAn evening meal is being provided free of charge. Whether or not you’re playing in the poker run\, stop in at Roxie’s! Contact a Board Member with any questions you might have.
