SUMMARY:Turtle Lake 5K Run / Walk to Benefit TC Track
DESCRIPTION:A 5K Run/Walk and Costume Contest will be held to raise funds to build a new track facility.  Registration deadline is December 3rd.  Check in begins at 12-noon.  The course begins at the Turtle Lake school commons entrance\, go through the Village Park\, and return back to the School. \nPre-register by Dec. 3rd or on the day of the event at an increased rate. \nThere is a kid’s one-mile race\, three age-brackets for the 5K race\, and 5K walk.  There will also be a costume contest announced at the end of the race along with race results. \nLong-sleeve shirts are available for pre-registrants only.

DESCRIPTION:Starting in 2018 the Lower Turtle Lake District is sponsoring a monthly organics recycling program that takes place on the 2nd Saturday of each month through October.  LTL District is working with Almena Township\, which operates a landfill in conjunction with the Village of Turtle Lake that is located about 5 miles north of Turtle Lake on Highway 63 (across from the old golf course and where Hwy 63 adds a 2nd lane\, look for the orange cattle gate on the east side). Only residents of the Township of Almena or the Village of Turtle Lake can use this site. The landfill will be open between 10am and 5pm and accepts solid waste which is defined as clean soil\, brick building stone\, unpainted and untreated concrete\, reinforced concrete\, broken pavement\, unpainted and untreated wood as well as organic waste such as leaves\, brush\, tree stumps and cuttings and most importantly\, LAKE WEEDS including our invasive curly leaf pondweed.

DESCRIPTION:This is the third of four planned meetings as well of the 2017 Annual meeting of the Lower Turtle Lake Management District.  Meetings are held in the Almena (Township) Town Hall located at 211 Soo Ave. W.\, in Almena\, WI  54805 and begin at 8:00 am.  The elected members of the board will discuss current topics related specifically to the lake itself as well as surrounding areas and properties.  For the Annual meeting discussion the board will provide yearly budget review and basic year in review information.  This is a public meeting and all lake owners as well as other interested parties are encouraged to attend.

DESCRIPTION:LTLA Poker Run 2018\nSaturday July 21 – 2:00 PM \nStart by traveling by watercraft to 1 of 2 registration stations – Marv and Nancy Karth’s or Bob and Denise Peltier’s (docks will be marked) – to pay your $5.00 per person entry fee and pick up your “sign off sheet.”  Both registration stations are also stop locations. Between the hours of 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.\, travel to 7 stop locations (docks will be marked) to have your sheet authenticated. Once finished\, gather at Roxie’s Bar & Grill in Almena at 5:00 p.m. to draw cards for your poker hand. You will be given one card for each authentication on your sheet. The best poker hands determine the prize winners. \n• Any number of participants (age 18 and older) can be on a watercraft.\n• Each participant must pay an entry fee.\n• If any entry fee is paid so a particular person can play\, that person must be on a watercraft and obtain his/her own authentications.\n• Guests of lakeshore owners are invited to play.\n• Each participant must come to Roxie’s personally at 5:00 p.m. to receive his/her cards. Participants under 21 years of age must be\naccompanied by a parent or legal guardian.\n• No hands can be combined to form a better hand.\n• REMEMBER TO VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE DOCKS BEFORE HANDING IN YOUR SHEET! \nA free light evening meal will be available at Roxie’s Bar & Grill for all LTLA Poker Run participants and their guests.

SUMMARY:Lower Turtle Lake District Monthly Organics Recycling
DESCRIPTION:Starting in 2018 the Lower Turtle Lake District is sponsoring a monthly organics recycling program that takes place on the 2nd Saturday of each month through October.  LTL District is working with Almena Township\, which operates a landfill in conjunction with the Village of Turtle Lake that is located about 5 miles north of Turtle Lake on Highway 63 (across from the old golf course and where Hwy 63 adds a 2nd lane\, look for the orange cattle gate on the east side). Only residents of the Township of Almena or the Village of Turtle Lake can use this site. The landfill will be open between 10am and 5pm and accepts solid waste which is defined as clean soil\, brick building stone\, unpainted and untreated concrete\, reinforced concrete\, broken pavement\, unpainted and untreated wood as well as organic waste such as leaves\, brush\, tree stumps and cuttings and most importantly\, LAKE WEEDS including our invasive curly leaf pondweed.
